Frequently Asked Questions

What is TMG Enterprise Partners?

It’s TMG’s newest offering – an operating platform designed to support independent mortgage brokerages with enterprise-level capabilities. The goal is to give independent owners access to infrastructure and scale without requiring them to sell their business or give up control. TMG already has many of these capabilities within its existing ecosystem. This launch brings them together into a clearly-defined platform and partnership model for successful independent brokerages.

Is TMG Enterprise Partners another mortgage network?

No. It’s an enterprise operating platform and strategic partnership model, not simply another network focused on membership and lender access.

Why did TMG create this?

Independent brokerages are facing increasing complexity in compliance, technology, cybersecurity, operations, cost and lender expectations. The platform is designed to let successful owners access capabilities that would otherwise be expensive or difficult to build themselves.

Who’s the platform designed for?

It’s designed primarily for successful, established and growth-oriented independent mortgage brokerages that want stronger infrastructure and strategic support while retaining their independence.

Does a partner have to sell their brokerage or give up ownership?

No. Independence is fundamental to the model. Partner firms retain ownership, brand, culture and decision-making authority.

Does TMG control the partner brokerage?

No. The platform is designed to sit around the brokerage, not over it. The partner remains responsible for their business and retains decision-making authority.

Is this a franchise or a consolidator?

No. It’s not a franchise, brokerage roll-up or consolidator. The model is specifically designed to preserve the independence and entrepreneurial identity of partner firms while offering more options.

Does a partner have to change its name or brand?

No. Retaining the partner’s brand and identity is a core part of the model.

What does a partner receive?

Depending on the tier – there are three available tiers – the platform offers support across operations, technology, compliance, finance, HR, growth, strategy, infrastructure, reporting, marketing and recruitment. Support ranges from hands-on assistance to tools, guides and blueprints, with the level varying by tier.

Does a partner have to use TMG’s technology?

No. The philosophy is choice, not control. Partners aren’t being forced into a proprietary technology ecosystem. However, the Hurricane/H20 platform will be introduced to every new firm as a choice. If a partner firm adopts Hurricane/H20 as their submission platform, additional services and tools become available to them.

Does a brokerage have to adopt all support systems?

No. The model is designed to provide a platform around the brokerage, allowing partners to select the capabilities that deliver the most value for their specific business. The areas of support available depend on the applicable tier and agreement.

Does the platform provide compliance support?

Yes. Compliance, governance and risk are core parts of the platform, including guidance, systems, policies, standardized processes and operational oversight.

Does TMG take over the brokerage’s compliance obligations?

No. The platform provides support, infrastructure, guidance and oversight. The partner brokerage remains responsible for its own regulatory obligations.

Does TMG provide HR, payroll or finance support?

These capabilities are part of the platform, with the depth of support depending on the tier and selected services. Some services require use of Hurricane/H20 and are available at an additional cost.

How does a brokerage become a partner?

The process starts with a conversation with the Enterprise Partners team to understand the brokerage, its needs and the appropriate partnership structure.
